Biggest Loser, Nate Style!

I have found a new love in life! I love some reality tv, but none as much as ....

This show is so motivating! I cry as I watch EVERY episode. I just happened to stumble across the season premier, and I have been hooked ever since. I look forward to Tuesdays just to be able to watch it!

So, since I have been sooooo motivated because of this show, I decided to join Rob at Nate's gym, Underground Fitness Revolution. Nate is a friend from church, who has a passion for fitness. He started his own gym, and Rob was one of ten winners of a free 3-month membership. He has done so well, and lost 23 pounds. I have never had a desire to go to a trainer for some serious exercise, because I thought I couldn't do it. I have finally had enough! I started with Nate last week, and I absolutely LOVE it! It is hard, I won't lie; but it is totally worth it!

I told Nate I wanted to do Biggest Loser, Nate Style! I am ready for whatever that requires (I think!) Maybe, oh maybe, I will get gutsy and post my before pictures. We'll have to see about that. But I can assure you that if I don't post them now, I will definitely post them as soon as I have even a slight after to go with it:)

If you would like to see what Nate and his gym are all about, visit him at www.ufrevolution.com. If you are interested, tell him I sent you. I get credit for that, you know. I will try to keep posting updates, like my diet changes and such as often as I get time. You will be so proud to know I am eating FRUITS and some veggies:)

Seasons of Faith Luncheon

This weekend, our church hosted the annual "Seasons of Faith" ladies luncheon. This is always so much fun, because each table has a hostess, who decorates a table in a "season" of their choice. There are prizes for the best tables. Well, you know me, I couldn't resist the opportunity for a little friendly competition. Christy and I decided to pair up and do "hunting season".

Here is a peek at our lovely table:

We used my fine china and crystal, which has only been used twice in 11 years.

I also did a second table, and it was Gator Themed.

It was great time to spend with each other, and I enjoyed some good "friend time."

Our hunting table won "Most Original", which made me proud because I am all about being original. Here are the "Hostesses with the Mostesses!"

It was so much fun, and I am already thinking about next year.

By the way, head on over to Chef Cheffs: www.chef-cheff.blogspot.com. I will be posting my cakes from the weekend as soon as I finish this post.

Have a great day!

A Piece of Cake

It has been way too long since I last posted, but I have been busy as a bee making some really cute cakes. Last weekend, we celebrated Jon's birthday. Melinda requested a Ninja Turtle cake, because when Jah was little, that was his favorite!!! So I obliged. His most favorite turtle was Rafael, so I did some research, and got to work.

You all know by now that I despise butter cream icing, because I am not very good at working with it. However, I thought this one turned out better than any other buttercream cake I have done. So.....without further ado, here is Jah's Rafael Cake:

This picture was taken with my phone because my new camera had a dead battery. But, I thought it turned out pretty cute! He sure loved it so my mission was accomplished.

Then, this past weekend we hosted a baby shower for my cousin Ashley. The shower was at my house, so we spent all weekend cleaning....UGHHHH! I had been planning for her cake for quite some time. Ashley's nursery theme is woodland animals. So I thought I would create something spectacular for her. I dreamed up this tree cake with fondant woodland animals. I started working on the animals a week in advance. This was the first time I have done any 3d figurines. Melinda helped me by making a hedgehog. She did really good for her first time in the cake business!

A co-worker helped build me a stand out of a tree trunk candle holder. Here is my best cake yet!!!!!

This was the first time that I looked at a finished cake and was so totally proud! I loved it!!! My husband finally got on to me and told me this was an expensive hobby. So....if you or anyone you know is in need of a cake, please keep me in mind. I need to recuperate some of my costs:) (Except you Christina! I cannot come to Virginia every other weekend:)) But I will see you in August!
