Weekend Wrap-up

It has been another crazy week in the Vaughn family.  We are still trying to get moved back in our house. Once we get it all back together, I will have to post pictures.

Our busyness will continue through the weekend, as we have football signups, a work day at our house, a birthday party for a friend, church, and SaraGrace’s birthday.

Speaking of SG’s birthday…

photoShe has moved on from a horse, and now wants a “lock mower.”  She said, “it has to be green!”  Her daddy promised her when she got older he would buy her one.  He told her he would even let her drive circles in the yard!

Cade is super excited about football this year.  He has put on a little weight (read about 5 pounds) and he is ready to tackle somebody!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

A Mermaid Birthday: SG Turns 5 (in a few days)

SaraGrace wanted to go see the mermaids for her birthday.  Since hers and Gamma’s are close together, we made it a girls day at Weeki Wachee.

SG invited her friend, Emma, and they had a blast!

girlsThe most important thing on the agenda was to see the mermaids, so after we found us a table in the water area, we went to get in line.

Gamma waited in line for us while we played at the playground.  This momma may have devoured a mint chocolate chip ice cream cone during said wait.

Once it was time for the show, the girls were super excited.  They counted down the minutes.

Once the show was over, we had to have our picture made with the mermaid.

We missed the boat ride, but got to see a peacock or two.

The girls even got to take a picture as a mermaid.

After we spent some time in the water park, ate some lunch, enjoyed some birthday cupcakes, and liketa died on the lazy river, we called it a day.  She is still talking about the mermaids.  I think she had a really good time!

SG doesn’t turn 5 until the 30th, so we will have her family party on Sunday.  She has put in her requests, and a horse is on the list.  We will probably have one disappointed little princess:)

Emmy Update: 21 Weeks

We got to see Dr. Duff today, and got a great report for Emmy. Here is an update on her progress:

belly 21 weeks

Emmy Claire:

Gestational Age: 21 weeks 4 days

Weight Gained: 9.75 pounds

Cravings: Cheese, cheese and more cheese

Fetal Movement: All day every day.  You are a mover and a shaker.

Today’s ultrasound: Everything looks just perfect!  You had the hiccups for most of the appointment.

Highlight of my day: Knowing that you are so healthy and perfect.  Although, getting a prescription for massage therapy twice a week was a close second:)

I have found myself calling Emmy “Faith” all week.  I’m not sure why, but every time I refer to Emmy, I have to catch myself.  It’s been a reminder that Faith is still with us, and she will always be a part of our family.

10 Years

Anniversary 001

Today marks our 10 year wedding anniversary.  It is so hard to believe we have been married 10 years.  We thought we knew it all, but boy did we have so much to learn.

I love my husband very much, and we have some fun things planned for this weekend, but the Lord laid something on my heart for this post.

You see, Rob and I have been through a lot in our marriage.  Every marriage has its mountains and valleys, and we have had our share.  There have been more than several occasions in which we thought we’d never make it through to the other side.  The birth and death of our daughter was no exception.  Satan tried his best to divide and conquer, but our Heavenly Father prevailed.

So here we are, together and more in love than ever.

If we’ve learned anything these past 10 years, it is that we must love each other as Christ loves us.  We must forgive one another, just as Jesus paid the price to forgive us.  Love is not always a  feeling.  I know that sounds so cliché, but it’s the truth.  We have both had to make a CHOICE to love sometimes as it has not always been easy.

God gave us the example of true love in Corinthians.

  1 Corinthians 13:4-8

King James Version (KJV)

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

If you do not know the love of Jesus, it is impossible to love someone else in this way.  I want to encourage you to seek His face, accept His gift of love and forgiveness, and experience a LOVE like you’ve never known before.  It is then that you will know what true love is.

Cade’s Birthday Party

Now that we are back to our regularly scheduled programming, I am hoping to get caught up on tons of blog stuff!

The first order of business is Cade’s birthday party.  Forgive the picture quality as my iphone stinks as a camera. This year, we did something we have never done before. We paid for a birthday party. GASP!  We always do a pool party at my parents house, and it is so low maintenance.

Well, now that Cade is so big and all, he wanted to go play laser tag, even though he had never played before.

We met up with some of his friends at his favorite restaurant, Pizza Hut for pizza, cake and gifts.

cade cakeHe had requested a camo Halo cake, so between me, Gamma, Publix and Walmart, we delivered.

After lunch, we loaded up and headed to Splitz to play laser tag and have fun in the arcade.

boysIt like to have killed them waiting to play.  Once it was their turn, they were stoked.

tag Cade was so excited, he wouldn’t even sit still to let me take a picture.  Hence the blurry photo.

suit After laser tag, the boys had a great time playing in the arcade.  When we got in the car, Cade said, “That was the BEST birthday EVER, Momma!”

He’s already planning next year’s party.
